Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 25, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Chance (“the App”, “we”, “us”) handles information. Chance is developed and operated by an independent individual developer. By using the App you agree to the practices described below.

1. No account, no personal data collection by us

The App does not require you to create an account, sign in, or provide any personal information such as your name, email address, or phone number to use it.

We, the developer, operate no servers that receive your information, and we do not ourselves collect, store, or sell your personal data. The limited processing that does occur is described below and is handled by Apple and Google under their own privacy policies.

2. Data stored locally on your device

All of your in-app progress — including quiz scores, accuracy statistics, day streaks, points, your chosen language, theme, and other preferences — is stored locally on your device using the system's standard local storage (UserDefaults).

This data never leaves your device by our doing. It remains on your device until you delete it. Deleting the App removes all of this locally stored data along with it. We provide no mechanism to back this data up to, or restore it from, any server we control.

3. Usage analytics (Firebase Analytics)

The App uses Google Firebase Analytics to record anonymous, aggregate usage events — for example, that a calculation was run, that a quiz session was started or finished, or that a screen was opened. These events contain no account, contact, or other directly identifying information about you, and we do not use them to build a profile of you.

Firebase Analytics may collect device-level information such as device model, operating system version, app version, country/region derived from your IP address, and, if you have granted tracking permission, the advertising identifier (IDFA). This information is processed by Google under Google's privacy policy. We do not sell this information.

You can review Google's privacy policy here: Google Privacy Policy.

4. Advertising (Google AdMob)

The App displays advertising provided by Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, Google and its partners may collect and process certain information, which may include device identifiers, approximate location derived from your IP address, and information about how you interact with ads and the App.

This data is collected by Google, not by us, and is governed by Google's own privacy policy.

On Apple devices, the App will present the App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt before any personalized (tracking-based) advertising. If you decline, you will continue to see advertising, but it will be non-personalized rather than tailored to you. The one-time Pro purchase removes all advertising from the App.

You can review how Google handles this information here: Google Privacy Policy.

5. Purchases (RevenueCat)

In-app purchases, including the one-time Pro unlock, are processed by Apple through the App Store. To manage purchase status and enable restore across devices, the App uses RevenueCat, a third-party purchase management service.

RevenueCat receives your Apple purchase receipt for server-side validation and assigns you an anonymous identifier — it does not receive your name, email, or payment details. RevenueCat may also process app version, operating system version, device locale, and SDK version. This data is handled under RevenueCat's privacy policy.

You can review RevenueCat's privacy policy here: RevenueCat Privacy Policy.

6. GDPR consent management

For users in the European Economic Area (EEA) and the United Kingdom, the App uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to present a consent dialog before collecting data for advertising and analytics purposes. You may withdraw or change your consent at any time through the App or your device settings.

7. Children

The App is intended for users aged 18 and older and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

8. Your choices

You can decline tracking-based (personalized) advertising through the ATT prompt or in your device's privacy settings. You can reset your device's advertising identifier, remove advertising entirely by purchasing Pro, and erase all locally stored progress by deleting the App.

9. Third-party services summary

The App integrates the following third-party services: Google Firebase Analytics (usage analytics), Google AdMob (advertising), Google User Messaging Platform (GDPR consent), and RevenueCat (purchase management). Each service processes data under its own privacy policy, linked in the relevant sections above.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, including if we add or change analytics or advertising providers. Any changes will be published on this page with a revised effective date. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
